Authentic Swiss treasures meet traditional Texas western in our open-concept Zermatt Swiss Log Cabin. This luxurious studio cabin for two features a cozy sitting room, a furnished kitchenette, and a spacious king-sized master suite with a two-person jacuzzi tub.
Zermatt is named after a magical city located at the base of Switzerland’s iconic Matterhorn mountain. Enjoy the custom craftsmanship while you sip wine in front of our hand-built stone fireplace with a view of the creek and grounds coming through the imported Swiss windows.
The Zermatt Swiss Log Cabin also has a private, covered porch that overlooks the resort, so you can relax in the clean country air and enjoy the sounds of the creek while you rock, read or dream in our old-fashioned rocking chairs and cook out using the provided charcoal grill.
Our beautiful Zermatt log cabin shares manicured resort grounds with nine other Swiss-themed one-bedrooms cabins and six other larger vacation homes. Together, these homey custom-built accommodations make up Barons CreekSide Swiss Village, or as we like to call it: the most romantic getaway in Hill Country.
Our little Swiss Village is designed for romance and privacy, and has hosted some of our guests’ most memorable moments, from engagements to elopements and anniversaries. We also host larger wedding parties, and our rentals booked all together can hold up to 52 guests. Let us know about your special event, and we can help out with ceremony location and backdrop, rehearsal dinner or reception venues, and even finding a local florist and caterer.
A stay at Zermatt Swiss Log Cabin offers tons of fun day trips to attractions in and around Fredericksburg, Texas. We have many unique amenities and activities right on resort grounds, as well as being close to the downtown area and several outdoor adventure spots.

We absolutely loves our stay here! We were looking for a quiet, romantic place to stay for our 20 year anniversary and I'm so glad we cancelled our hotel stay and changed it to here. The Club had a very welcoming atmosphere for all age groups. Sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch morning and night was so relaxing. We even ventured down the nature trail. We saw so many fireflies, it was magical! I haven't see those in years. It was also nice how easy it is to check in and out here. This will be on our list to come visit again. J & S
Love you place cant wait to cime back...beautiful. Charles A. Trexler
The location was great, close enough and far enough from town. We stayed in the Lucerne cabin. It was lovely and perfect for a two night getaway. Deborah and Daniel were wonderful hosts. The cabin was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and the craftsmanship was amazing! Will definitely go back! Jane Smith
The location was perfect. As soon as you stepped foot on the property you were transported to the countryside. However, you are so close to town if you need to run in or plan on walking down Main Street. The owners were wonderful and provided a fantastic experience. The cabins and grounds are so full of charm and detail. You can’t go wrong staying here. Arie Lyn

Beautiful, unique, quaint log cabins! Perfect for couples. Brandon Kelley
Barons Creekside is beautiful, secluded and peaceful! My husband and I were only able to come for an overnight trip this time but we will definitely be back!! Reservations, check in and out were easy. The cabin was so cozy and welcoming. We are hoping to make this an annual destination. Well worth the drive if you are looking for a much needed trip away! Resort owner Dr. Daniel Meyer of Switzerland fell in love with the Texas Hill Country on a trip to the United States in 2006. After one night in what is now the Baron’s Log Cabin, he decided to buy the home and 26 acres of undeveloped pasture to create what would one day become the CreekSide Swiss Village in Fredericksburg.
Using historic design elements of his own 250-year-old Swiss farmhouse in Lucerne (such as its doors and windows) — along with the talents of Texas cabin builder Joey Johns and the teachings of a native Swiss craftsman, he set out to build his dream village one cabin at a time, filling them with genuine antiques along the way.
Daniel has since met his partner in the native Texan lady Deborah, who shares his passion for the resort. Barons CreekSide has been host to proposals, weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, reunions and more. We invite you to stay and experience our slice of Swiss heaven, right in the heart of Texas.
