Our one-bedroom Barons Log Cabin sleeps four, and is one of our more family-friendly vacation rentals at Barons CreekSide Swiss Village. This lovingly restored log home was originally built in 1870, and moved to our beautiful spot in the Texas Hill Country from Greensboro, KY.
A private, covered porch to the front of the house is ideally situated to make the most of our stunning Hill Country sunsets, surrounded by lush native gardens and manicured resort grounds. Relax in one of our old-fashioned rocking chairs and take in the fresh air and view.
Inside, Barons Log Cabin features rustic timbered walls, antique wood floors, vaulted ceilings, and a stone-surround wood-burning fireplace. The cabin’s open floor plan includes a cozy sitting room, a furnished kitchenette, one full bath and a separate bedroom with a queen-sized bed.
There is also a sleeper sofa in the sitting room that comfortably sleeps two.
This cabin’s romantic atmosphere is accented by unique design features, such as the sophisticated antique chandelier and the artistic stained glass window in the eaves of the bedroom. Barons Log Cabin is an excellent destination for couple’s getaways.
We also host large groups and wedding parties! Let us know during booking, and we can help you out with a scenic setting for your ceremony and photographs, reserve an evening for you in our on-site club for rehearsals or receptions, and even put you in touch with local florists or caterers.
Barons CreekSide Swiss Village is located right at the entrance of 290 Wine Road! This means easy access to 40 local wineries, all within 20 minutes of your cabin door — complete with a shuttle and lunch stops along the way.
There is The Club right on resort grounds, which is open to the public. This venue offers European-style bistro dining and live entertainment on Thursday, Friday, & Saturday evenings. It does sell out, so reserve your table ahead of time.
Other onsite amenities include our scenic nature trails, our own vineyard, fishing in Barons Creek, and in-cabin couple’s massages.
Other popular attractions in the Fredericksburg, TX, area include hiking at Enchanted Rocks State Park, haunted tours of the historic downtown area.

We absolutely loves our stay here! We were looking for a quiet, romantic place to stay for our 20 year anniversary and I'm so glad we cancelled our hotel stay and changed it to here. The Club had a very welcoming atmosphere for all age groups. Sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch morning and night was so relaxing. We even ventured down the nature trail. We saw so many fireflies, it was magical! I haven't see those in years. It was also nice how easy it is to check in and out here. This will be on our list to come visit again. J & S
Love you place cant wait to cime back...beautiful. Charles A. Trexler
The location was great, close enough and far enough from town. We stayed in the Lucerne cabin. It was lovely and perfect for a two night getaway. Deborah and Daniel were wonderful hosts. The cabin was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and the craftsmanship was amazing! Will definitely go back! Jane Smith
The location was perfect. As soon as you stepped foot on the property you were transported to the countryside. However, you are so close to town if you need to run in or plan on walking down Main Street. The owners were wonderful and provided a fantastic experience. The cabins and grounds are so full of charm and detail. You can’t go wrong staying here. Arie Lyn

Beautiful, unique, quaint log cabins! Perfect for couples. Brandon Kelley
Barons Creekside is beautiful, secluded and peaceful! My husband and I were only able to come for an overnight trip this time but we will definitely be back!! Reservations, check in and out were easy. The cabin was so cozy and welcoming. We are hoping to make this an annual destination. Well worth the drive if you are looking for a much needed trip away! Resort owner Dr. Daniel Meyer of Switzerland fell in love with the Texas Hill Country on a trip to the United States in 2006. After one night in what is now the Baron’s Log Cabin, he decided to buy the home and 26 acres of undeveloped pasture to create what would one day become the CreekSide Swiss Village in Fredericksburg.
Using historic design elements of his own 250-year-old Swiss farmhouse in Lucerne (such as its doors and windows) — along with the talents of Texas cabin builder Joey Johns and the teachings of a native Swiss craftsman, he set out to build his dream village one cabin at a time, filling them with genuine antiques along the way.
Daniel has since met his partner in the native Texan lady Deborah, who shares his passion for the resort. Barons CreekSide has been host to proposals, weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, reunions and more. We invite you to stay and experience our slice of Swiss heaven, right in the heart of Texas.
